
Thomas is an international business lawyer with over 17 years of experience advising clients in multiple jurisdictions (including the UK, Africa, MENA and Asia). He has extensive expertise spanning various sectors and practice areas including energy, power, mining, corporate and commercial, infrastructure, acquisitions and divestments, employment and international commercial dispute resolution.
Thomas has been involved in some of the largest M&A transactions and infrastructure projects but his passion lies primarily in international commercial dispute resolution, where he has managed legally complex and high value arbitral disputes (under UNCITRAL, SIAC, DIAC, ICC, LCIA Rules) relating to breach of contract, debt claims, petroleum contracts (e.g. PSAs/JOAs/FIA and drilling contracts), shipping and commodities, pipeline disputes in Africa, Russia and Kazakhstan, complex fraud, derivative actions, LoCs, bulk supply of electricity and tariff disputes in Africa, requisition of a port under a concession and defective hydropower transformers). He has worked in the UK, France, China, Singapore, Africa (including Sudan, South Africa, Egypt, Zambia and Mauritius), the Middle East, Malaysia and Kazakhstan.
Thomas was a founding partner of LXL LLP (where he headed the international energy disputes department) before setting up Osiris Law in 2024. Recognised for his expertise, Thomas has featured in the Legal 500 as ‘excellent at managing large projects’.
