Development & Structuring

Planning & Site Acquisition: Assisting in site acquisition for power generation facilities (including for renewables), negotiating land use agreements, offshore rights, leases, or purchase agreements, and advising on zoning and planning regulations.

Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)

Drafting & Negotiation: Drafting and negotiating PPAs between energy producers and offtakers (such as utilities, governments, or corporate buyers).
Corporate PPAs: Assisting in the structuring of corporate PPAs, where companies directly purchase renewable and traditional power from producers.

Grid Connection & Transmission

Grid Connection Agreements: Assisting in the negotiation of grid connection agreements between energy producers and grid operators, addressing technical and commercial issues such as connection charges, grid access, and capacity allocation.
Transmission & Distribution Agreements: Advising on contracts related to the transmission and distribution of electricity generated, ensuring compliance with grid codes and regulatory requirements.
Off-Grid & Microgrid Projects: Providing legal advice on the development of off-grid and microgrid renewable and traditional energy projects, which may involve rural electrification or localised power supply solutions in remote areas.
Regulatory Compliance: Advising on compliance with energy sector regulations, including national and regional laws governing power generation, grid access, and renewable energy production.
Licensing & Permits: Assisting clients in obtaining necessary permits and licenses for the development and operation of energy projects, including environmental approvals, building permits, and connection agreements with national grids.
Renewable Energy Targets: Assisting clients meet regulatory obligations related to renewable energy targets, such as Renewable Energy Certificates or quotas under national renewable energy policies.
